CIS summit to focus on free trade area
A CIS summit is due in Moscow today, to focus on prospects for economic cooperation, including the creation of a free trade area in the Commonwealth.
According to the Russian President’s press service, the signing of a treaty on a free trade area within the framework of the Commonwealth will help remove barriers and liberalize trade in the CIS.
This summit is due to become a key event held under Russia’s CIS chairmanship during 2010.
Yesterday the leaders of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan approved a declaration on forming a Single Economic Area.
